Attention Triangle Area Wind and Percussion Musicians!

The Durham Community Concert Band is pleased to announce the date for its annual Open Reading Session. Open to all wind and percussion musicians, this music reading session is one of the band's most popular traditions. This is a special opportunity to make new friends and reconnect with old ones ... all while playing great music.

Please join us!


We will play music graded from medium to advanced ... something for everyone! This years emphasis will be on multi-movement selections or collections of pieces, including:

  • Beethoven’s Fifth
  • Enigma Variations
  • Nimrod
  • Four Scottish Dances
  • The Traveler (Sousa)
  • Russian Christmas Music
  • Southern dances(Milburn)
  • Pictures at an Exhibition
  • Scenes from the Louvre
  • Star Wars
  • Royal Fireworks
  • Liturgical Dances
  • 1st Suite (Alfred Reed)
  • Pineapple Poll
  • Firebird Suite
  • Old American Dances
  • 3 Ayres from Glochester
  • William Byrd???
  • Great Movie Marches
  • Beethoven’s 5th Finale

This is not a membership recruitment event ... there is no obligation to join our band ... simply join us for a fun music reading session.
